22.04.2022: CDG crisis support for Ukrainian scientists - three short introductions

We are happy to be able to offer three young Ukrainian scientists the opportunity to work in CD Laboratories/JR Centres for 12 months each:

Dr. Olena P. Bilous joins the CD Laboratory for Meta Ecosystem dynamics in riverine landscapes at BOKU Wien, led by Prof. Thomas Hein, which is dedicated to research on the impacts of human activity on biodiversity and ecosystem services of the Danube (as well as working on sustainable ecological measures to counteract negative developments).

Ms. Anastasia Kadylnykova will, together with the head of the laboratory Prof. Abdellah Kharicha and the other scientists of the CD Laboratory for Metallurgical Applications of Magnetohydrodynamics at Montanuniversität Leoben, contribute significantly to the scientific description and optimisation of various metallurgical processes and technologies (in order to better understand seemingly contradictory experimental observations).

Finally, Dr. Natalia Burkina joins the team of the JR Centre for Robust Decision Making headed by Dr. Michael Hellwig at Fachhochschule Vorarlberg to work together on robust algorithms (meaning those that lead to reliable statements despite uncertainties in the data) for classification, prediction and optimisation methods with regard to problems from manufacturing technology and the financial sector.

The CDG wishes the three colleagues every success!
