Strong roots, many fruits: The CD model

Two essential conditions must be met at the start of a CD Laboratory or a JR Centre. A company must have a concrete requirement to extend its knowledge on a particular topic and a scientist must be interested in undertaking basic research in this application-oriented area.
The partners then develop a joint research programme and its fruits include publications, patents and careers. 

 

 

 

 

 

The CDG realises its strategic tasks with its funding programmes, Christian Doppler Laboratories and Josef Ressel Centres. The CDG

  • funds application-oriented basic research,
  • gives companies effective access to new knowledge and
  • operates at the interface between science and business.

The necessary linking of basic research and application issues in the companies takes place in CD Laboratories and JR Centres.
