Software protection in modern use cases such as self-driving cars is very complex: on the one hand, it must ensure that no unauthorised access to the source code is possible from outside, for example to maliciously modify or steal it. On the other hand, the protection itself must not cause any changes to the function of the software that could lead to problems and, in the worst case, accidents. In order to further increase the security and reliability of important software services, Head of Laboratory Sebastian Schrittwieser and his team, supported by commercial partner fragmentiX Storage Solutions GmbH, are therefore working on new methods of software protection.
