New CD Laboratory all about the inner ear

07.10.2022: Hearing loss is a problem that can affect all generations: Besides age-related hearing loss, such impairments potentially occur for a wide variety of reasons, ranging from congenital deafness to events that lead to hearing loss.

In this context, the name "Christian Doppler Laboratory for Inner Ear Research: Function Preservation and Regeneration" is already highly descriptive of the work of head Christoph Arnoldner and his team: In cooperation with commercial partner MED-EL Elektromedizinische Geräte Gesellschaft m.b.H., this research unit, which opened today at the Medical University of Vienna, is concerned with a wide variety of therapeutic options for maintaining and restoring hearing, not least in the field of cochlear implants, which enable auditory perception even in cases of complete deafness.
