New CD Laboratory for breast cancer research

10/24: Research at the MedUni Vienna is intended to make breast cancer diagnostics soft, safe and smart

Technical advances in breast imaging over the past decades have mainly focused on solving the medical problem of diagnostic accuracy. Common imaging procedures are perceived as unpleasant, even painful, by many individuals, which is one reason for the still poor acceptance of breast cancer screening.

This CD Laboratory therefore pursues a Triple-S (Soft, Safe and Smart) approach: ensuring patient well-being (Soft), increasing the acceptance and effectiveness of imaging (Safe) , and incorporating fundamental innovations (Smart).
