Research for lightweight and safe cars of the future

voestalpine’s informative and impressive “Stahlwelt” ("Steel World") celebrated its reopening in the summer of 2026, and we are delighted that the CDG also plays a part in this comprehensively modernised exhibition: In a video from his CD Laboratory for Surface and Interface Engineering at TU Wien, Head of Laboratory Markus Valtiner explains how his research into ultra-high-strength steels and their interactions with hydrogen will help to enable particularly lightweight, safe and sustainable cars.
