Falling Walls Lab Vienna 2026

3/26: Wanted: Ideas that change the world!

The Falling Walls Lab is an international competition that makes innovative research ideas visible. Students and young professionals from all disciplines have the opportunity to present their projects to a broad audience in a three-minute pitch.

Together with strong partners from the Austrian research landscape, the CDG is bringing the Falling Walls Lab to Vienna. What we are looking for are research ideas that inspire and have the potential to make the world a better place.

The ten best candidates will compete live at the FFG Forum in Vienna on 9 September 2026. A high-calibre jury will select three projects. The winner will then be chosen by audience vote at Technology Talks Austria and will represent Austria at the global final in Berlin in November!

We look forward to inspiring ideas that break boundaries and bring down walls!

Application deadline: from now until 29 May 2026
Pitching Training: 7 September 2026 (10:00–18:00) at LOFFICE in Vienna, led by science communicator and presentation expert Bernhard Weingartner
