Electronic systems have become an integral part of our everyday lives, but the interplay between the increasing number of electrical devices (more electromagnetic emissions) and the ongoing miniaturization of electronics (smaller components and therefore greater sensitivity to interference) can jeopardize their trouble-free operation, which is particularly important in safety-critical areas such as medical or automotive technology. Head of Laboratory Jan Carsten Hansen and the team at the new CD Laboratory, supported by commercial partners BMW Motoren GmbH, Infineon Technologies Austria AG and Infineon Technologies AG, are therefore researching how these problems can be counteracted using modeling based on machine learning.
