| Description of the module: In recent years the simulation of the hot forming process became a common tool in industry to avoid crack formation. The aim is to develop a module for simulation programs, which delivers the basic adjusting parameters for the simulation and to validate the simulation.
In order to do this, we have to get a deeper insight into the local mechanism on the grain and sub-grain levels and their effect on crack generation during hot forming.
This work can be separated into the quantification of existing cracks generated during hot working, the examination of local inhomogeneities during hot working, and the experimental verification of workability.
